CCC Business Writing, LLC Development of a Web-Based Application for Assessing and Reporting on Business Writing Skills Tests July 2006   Background CCC Business Writing, a growing new consulting group, needed a way to better differentiate themselves from their competitors—while also increasing the efficiency of their business. CCC asked Granger Group to design a test creation, management and assessment application for them.     Challenge With a limited budget, create a Web-based application that will allow the client to give their seminar attendees a series of tests they could use to pre-evaluate their attendees as well as offer a post-evaluation measurement. The ultimate goal: to provide empirical data showing how successful the seminar was.

Granger Group's Solution After creating a high-level spec document, Granger Group developed two Web-based environments: one for attendees (the test-taking environment) and one for the management of the test and seminar attendees. Decrease the total time spent preparing for and reporting on the seminars. Increase the accuracy of CCC's outcome reports. Provide CCC with an additional business feature—the online system. Results Through smart use of a Web-based application, a growing business has increasing its service offerings to compete with larger companies while reducing costs to provide business writing seminars.
